Atlantis found? Ancient map ‘PROVES’ lost underwater city was in Sahara Desert

That is the astonishing claim of vlogger and conspiracy theorist Jimmy Bright.
Bright unveiled his new theory – that the remnants of Atlantis lie in the North West African country of Mauritania – in a YouTube video published earlier this week.
He cites a series of geographical, historical and literary sources which suggest similarities between descriptions of Atlantis, as documented by ancient philosopher Plato, and the Richact Structure in the Sahara.

He says: “I connected the dots on more than a dozen similarities between Plato’s description of Atlantis to that of the Richact Structure.

“These similarities are so numerous and so precise that the Richat Structure should be considered the most likely location for this lost ancient civilisation.
“The evidence is simply overwhelming.”
He cites the Mauritanian King Atlas, who ruled for a period in the 16th century, and the mythical King Atlas of Atlantis, said to be the son of Poseidon.
The Richat Structure is also made of concentric circles, as Atlantis was described as having by Plato – three filled with water and four more with land.
Since being published online last week, the video has received more than a million views on YouTube.
One viewer wrote: “Holy crap, that's actually mind blowing. I've got to share the s*** out of this.”
Another added: “This has to be the most compelling evidence for atlantis being in Africa i have ever seen.”
Published historian Matt Sibson may have put an end to the speculation with his amazing discovery – claiming it may still be visible today.
